NAF Unleashes Fury: Boko Haram Camps Crushed In Devastating Borno Airstrikes

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of precision airstrikes against major Boko Haram strongholds nestled in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State.

The coordinated strikes, part of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), were launched on Saturday, July 6, 2025, and specifically targeted Wa Jahode and Loghpere, known hideouts of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.

According to a statement released on Monday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the offensive was based on Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions which had revealed increased terrorist activities in the region.

“Wa Jahode and Loghpere have long served as fortified sanctuaries for the JAS faction,” Ejodame noted.

He explained that ISR operations confirmed the existence of logistical warehouses, solar-powered buildings, black flags, and fortified structures—clear signs of the terrorists regrouping and preparing for coordinated assaults.

The airstrikes reportedly destroyed several critical targets, including command centres, logistics hubs, and defensive bunkers hidden within the mountainous terrain that stretches across the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

“Several terrorists were eliminated during the operation, disrupting their logistics network and weakening their ability to sustain future attacks,” Ejodame added.

The Air Force described the mission as a strategic success, stating that dismantling the enemy’s infrastructure in these locations would deal a heavy blow to Boko Haram’s ability to reorganise or carry out large-scale attacks in the region.

“The Nigerian Air Force remains steadfast in its resolve to continue the offensive against terrorists and ensure lasting peace across conflict-affected areas of the country,” the statement affirmed.

The Mandara Mountains, with their remote, rugged landscape and proximity to the Cameroonian border, have long served as a refuge and launchpad for insurgents. The successful strikes mark a renewed military push to eliminate lingering terror cells in the North-East, especially those harbouring senior commanders and vital resources.
