NAFDAC Challenges Staff Claims While Strike Remains In EffectThe Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, clarified that the agency does not control the number of staff promotions. Her comments come in response to the ongoing indefinite strike by the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government-Owned Companies, which represents NAFDAC employees frustrated over unresolved promotion issues and welfare concerns.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement signed by the agency’s Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola, Adeyeye asserted that the claims made by the striking workers are unfounded. She emphasized that while NAFDAC is committed to employee welfare and follows established procedures, it is not responsible for determining promotion numbers.

“We conduct exams for promotions, but the allocation of vacancies is managed by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation,” she explained. “Promotions depend on what the government can support financially, and vacancies are approved annually. This process is consistent across all agencies.”

Regarding concerns about estacode, Adeyeye stated that NAFDAC’s policy is sound and that staff members receive their due allowances. “Estacode is paid upon submission of trip evidence, and we have never failed to pay our employees their travel allowances,” she added.
