The Nigerian Army has disclosed the identities of the 16 officers and soldiers who lost their lives in the Okuama community within the Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to reports from Naija News, the army personnel, including a Lieutenant Colonel, two majors, one captain, and 12 soldiers, tragically fell victim to assailants while engaged in a peacekeeping mission at Okuoma community in Delta state.
These brave individuals were affiliated with the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, with some holding key positions such as the Commanding Officer of the 181 Amphibious Battalion.
The Nigerian Army swiftly responded to a distress call following a communal clash between the Okuoma and Okoloba communities in the South-South state, managing to recover the bodies of the fallen officers and soldiers.
In a solemn announcement shared via their official channels along with a photo collage, the Nigerian Army paid tribute to the departed, stating, “REST IN PEACE OUR FALLEN HEROES.”
Among the honored fallen are Lt Colonel AH Ali, the Commanding Officer of the 181 Amphibious Battalion, Nigerian Army, as well as Maj SD Shafa, Maj DE Obi, Capt U Zakari, SSgt Yahaya Saidu, Cpl Yahaya Danbaba, Col Kabiru Bashir, LCol Bulus Haruna, Lal Sole Opeyemi, LCpl Bello Anas, LCpl Hamman Peter, LCpl Ibrahim Abdullahi, Pte Alhaji Isah, Pte Clement Francis, Pte Abubakar Ali, and Pte Ibrahim Adamu.
Their names and service numbers stand as a testament to their sacrifice and dedication to duty. Let us honor their memory and recognize their service as true heroes.
