The charges were originally filed against the trio after the tragic incident in December 2024, where at least 35 children lost their lives during a children’s festive event. Naomi took to Instagram on Thursday to extend her condolences to the grieving families and pray for peace and comfort.
In her post, Naomi explained that her message of sympathy had been delayed due to court orders, which had prohibited her from speaking publicly on the matter. She thanked the Oyo State government for their understanding and reflected on the overwhelming support she had received during this challenging time.
She wrote, āFINDING COMFORT IN GRATITUDE: A HEARTFELT MESSAGE OF THANKS AND CONDOLENCES. What a friend we have in Jesus; all our grief He carries! What a privilege we have, carrying all to Him in prayers.
āAs a woman and a mother, who has long been a passionate advocate for children, my heart bleeds for the families who tragically lost their children. The events of December 18, 2024, which were meant to bring joy, instead led to a heartbreaking loss for us all. My prayer is for God to comfort the families and grant eternal peace to the souls of the children who died in this unfortunate incident. May the Lord restore their joy and give each family the strength to bear such an irreparable loss.
āThis message is long overdue. However, due to my temporary detention and subsequent events, I was instructed by the honorable court to remain silent on the matter. Today, by God’s grace, the charges against us were dropped, following the compassionate consideration of the Oyo State government, recognizing our intentions and actions throughout this difficult period.ā
