The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the effectiveness of fake news in securing what it believes is its allegedly stolen mandate. In addition, the party criticized the distortion of election petition coverage in the media.

Orogu highlighted that such tactics had been previously employed by agents of the opposing All Progressives Congress (APC) and the state governor.

He expressed concern over the distortion of key witness testimonies in the ongoing governorship election petition in Lafia.

Responding to the allegations, Orogu clarified that the PDP would not engage in responding to misleading claims disseminated through state propaganda outlets or biased social media channels.

Orogu emphasized that the PDP’s key witness, Barr Ayiwulu Baba Ayiwulu, presented a clear and unambiguous account at the tribunal. He denounced the alleged manipulation of Ayiwulu’s words by the APC and stated that attempts to influence public opinion have failed.

Regarding the claims of Mr. Kassim A Kassim, an appointee, Orogu asserted that withholding certain INEC documents would not hinder the PDP’s pursuit of justice.

He maintained that other documents already presented in court provide ample evidence to challenge the alleged mandate theft.
