Sources suggest that President Bola Tinubu has reportedly expressed confidence in the continuity of his principal legislative allies.

According to reports cited by The Nation, this assurance is believed to have influenced Abbas’s decision to step down from his senatorial ambition in Kaduna North and instead support former Kaduna State Governor Ramalan Yero.

A Presidency source was quoted as saying that the President does not intend to reshuffle his core leadership team in the National Assembly.

The source added that the current presiding officers are likely to maintain their positions if returned to office, noting that the Deputy Speaker is excluded from the arrangement due to his governorship ambition.

He further advised aspirants seeking National Assembly leadership roles to engage in wider consultations before making final political decisions.

Senators seeking re-election

Several senators across different political parties—including the APC, PDP, Labour Party, ADC, and NDC—are also preparing for re-election bids.

Among them are Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, Adetokunbo Abiru, Danjuma Goje, Hassan Dankwambo, Abdullahi Yahaya, Garba Maidoki, and Adamu Aliero.
