Nationwide Protest Organizer’s Account Still Frozen As UBA Denies Request

On Friday, Inibehe Effiong’s law firm, representing the Take-It-Back Movement, sent a letter to UBA demanding the account be reopened immediately. The firm also warned of potential legal action if the bank did not comply within 24 hours.

However, sources informed SaharaReporters that UBA refused to receive the letter from the group’s legal representatives. The letter sought a formal explanation for the account freeze and threatened legal action if the bank failed to respond.

The law firm’s letter stated, “We represent Take It Back Global Ltd/Gte, a Nigerian corporate entity, and are writing on their behalf. Our Client has informed us that their account with United Bank for Africa, Account Name: Take It Back, Account Number: 2109193911, has been frozen and is inaccessible.

“Neither United Bank for Africa nor its staff have provided any explanation for this restriction. We demand a detailed, written explanation for the account freeze within 24 hours of receiving this letter. Failure to comply will result in legal action as instructed by our Client.
