NDLEA Takes Down 28,959kg Cannabis Stash Concealed In Edo And Ekiti Forests

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported the destruction of over 10,534.78 kilograms of cannabis, grown on a 4.213912-hectare farm in Edo State. This operation, conducted in the Uhen forest of Ovia North East Local Government Area, led to the arrest of four suspects: Frank Ishoku, Clifford Ossai, Vanger Timothy, and John Oluwaseyi. Additionally, 16kg of processed cannabis was seized for legal action.

In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives destroyed 18,425kg of cannabis on a 7.37-hectare farm. Support from other security agencies was crucial during operations in Ise Ekiti’s dense forest.

Furthermore, in Abuja, NDLEA apprehended Muhammad Abba and Samson Ehizogie with 3,550 bottles of “Akuskura,” a new psychoactive substance, during a raid in Garki Area 10 and Dutse Suokale. Also, Emmanuel Ogechi was caught with 11,200 tramadol pills in Benue, while Anayo Onwe was found with 62.4kg of cannabis at Nteje. In Oraifite, Anambra State, 1kg of methamphetamine was seized from a suspect on the run. Lastly, Muhammed Musa was arrested with 33kg of cannabis in Kwara State, and Shokuro Adeola was caught with 11.5kg of the same substance along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Oyo State.
