Ndume Questions Tinubu’s Speedy Move To Suspend Cybersecurity Levy....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Ali Ndume, the Senate Chief Whip, has criticized the federal government for rushing the implementation of the cybersecurity levy. He argued that proper scrutiny of the levy was lacking before the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) hastily announced its implementation.
In response to President Bola Tinubu’s directive to suspend the controversial levy, Ndume commended the decision during an interview with Arise TV. He emphasized the importance of addressing cybercrime but stressed the need for a thorough review and proper implementation process.
Ndume urged Nigerians to support the government in upgrading cybercrime laws while acknowledging the burden additional levies could place on citizens, particularly low-income earners.
