NEMA Reports Discovery Of Deceased Man In Lagoon Waters

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has verified the retrieval of the body of a male passenger who tragically drowned after falling into the Lagoon from a bus that crashed on the Third Mainland Bridge on Wednesday.

Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator for NEMA, confirmed this development in a statement released on Friday in Lagos.

Farinloye stated that the Marine Police successfully recovered the body near the accident site.

However, efforts are still underway for the search and rescue operation to recover the body of the female passenger.

It’s worth noting that during the incident on Wednesday, two passengers were ejected from a commercial vehicle on the Third Mainland Bridge when the bus overturned and collided with the bridge rails.

Since then, emergency responders have been tirelessly searching for the bodies of the two passengers, a male and a female, who were thrown into the lagoon due to the impact.
