Governor Bago revealed this initiative after presenting symbolic aid to 700 households as beneficiaries of relief materials from the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons in Minna.
Expressing concern over the significant IDP population in the state, he highlighted the commission’s role in addressing the challenges faced by these individuals.
Bago specified that the commission would operate within the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
He further disclosed the state government’s plan to distribute 13,000 bags of grains from its reserves to support the IDPs.
The governor pledged the state government’s continuous efforts to alleviate the hardships faced by IDPs within the state.
