Oseni confirmed that Unistar meters are not upgradeable, making their eventual replacement necessary. āIf they say those meters are not upgradable, they can choose to phase them out. However, as they remove the meters, they must replace them according to the rules. It is the responsibility of the Discos to ensure this,ā he stated. He also noted that during the transition, customers should not face estimated billing or be denied electricity access.
