This incident is a tragic repeat of an attack that occurred ten years ago, when the same church was burned down by unknown arsonists who had warned against completing the church building.

In a statement from his Special Adviser on Print Media, Aisha Wakaso, Governor Bago described the attack as a grave affront to peace and unity in the state. He called for an immediate and thorough investigation by security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible.

Governor Bago urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and safeguarding religious freedoms.

The statement read, “We unequivocally condemn this act of violence and assure our Christian community and all Niger State residents that the government prioritizes their safety and religious freedom.
