Under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, the Niger State government has finalized all preparations for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated visit on March 12, 2024. In a recent press conference in Minna, Hajiya Binta Mamman, the state commissioner for Information and Strategy, disclosed that the Minna Airport has been officially renamed as Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport ahead of the event.
“I am pleased to announce that all necessary arrangements have been meticulously put in place to welcome Mr. President tomorrow,” Mamman stated during the press conference, as reported by Daily Post. She further explained that President Tinubu would inaugurate the renovated and upgraded terminal at Minna International Airport, a project initially initiated by the federal government but taken over by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s administration to ensure expedited completion.
The commissioner highlighted that the President’s visit would involve the commissioning of various categories of advanced agricultural mechanization equipment acquired by the State Government. Additionally, President Tinubu is expected to lay the foundation stone for the Hajj terminal, facilitating the smooth airlift of pilgrims to Mecca.
“These acquisitions align with our shared goal of achieving food security and supporting the national agendas of both federal and state governments,” emphasized Mrs. Binta Mamman.
