Speaking during a joint press conference with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brasília, Tinubu emphasized that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) now operates with transparency, assuring investors that access to foreign exchange no longer depends on personal connections.
“The reforms I initiated upon assuming office have been impactful. Though the beginning was tough, today the results are blossoming and becoming clearer to Nigerians. Our economy now has more funds, and corruption has no place in the system.
“With the CBN governor present here, I can affirm that you don’t need to know him to access forex. The days of speculators are over. Our currency market is now open and fair for businesses,” Tinubu declared.
The President is currently on a two-day State Visit to Brazil.
