Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 18 Battalion have arrested two suspected logistics suppliers allegedly linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) at the entrance of the battalion headquarters in Molai, Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the suspects were apprehended at approximately 3:30 p.m. on October 25, 2026, during a security screening at the military installation.

Preliminary investigations reportedly indicated that the two suspects were travelling towards a suspected terrorist transit point in Ajiri when troops intercepted them.

Items recovered during the operation included a mobile phone, a bicycle and an unspecified quantity of maize flour. The recovered materials are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation into the suspects’ alleged activities and possible links to insurgent logistics networks.

The suspects and the recovered items remain in military custody as security personnel continue investigations and determine the appropriate next steps.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the arrests form part of ongoing Nigerian Army operations aimed at disrupting the supply networks supporting terrorist groups operating in Nigeria’s North-East.

The military has continued efforts to restrict the movement of supplies and other resources suspected of being used by insurgents, as security agencies work to weaken their operational capabilities in the region.

However, the allegations against the two suspects have yet to be established in court, and further investigations are expected to clarify the circumstances surrounding their arrest.
