In January 2024, Ogunleye took to her TikTok page, @Ogunleyeruthsavage1, to allege that Colonel Abdulkareem, Colonel G.S. Ogor, and Brigadier General I.B. Solebo had made her life difficult. She accused Abdulkareem of repeatedly attempting to assault her, administering injections without her consent, forcibly removing her from her home, and confining her to a psychiatric hospital for months after she rejected his advances.

However, SaharaReporters reported that Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, stated that Ogunleye’s allegations were found to lack merit. He explained that after a thorough review of the facts, testimonies, and evidence, it was determined that Abdulkareem did not commit the alleged offenses. Nwachukwu also revealed that medical evaluations from the National Hospital in Abuja indicated Ogunleye was suffering from a condition that rendered her medically vulnerable.

Following her discharge on June 15, 2024, Ogunleye expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army in a TikTok post but reiterated her request for the investigation’s findings to be made public. “I want to say a big thank you to the Nigerian Army and its spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu. I humbly request that the Nigerian Army publish the outcome of the investigation that led to my discharge,” she said.

Ogunleye continued, “On January 9, 2024, I came on social media to complain about harassment from Colonel Abdulkareem, Colonel G.S. Ogor, and Brigadier General I.B. Solebo. I urge the Nigerian Army to share the investigation’s outcome on its social media platforms so that the world can know what truly happened and what led to my discharge. I would be very grateful if my request is considered.”

In another post, Ogunleye called on the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy, not to remain silent regarding her situation. She claimed that the minister had encouraged her to submit her resignation letter to the Army. Ogunleye expressed her disbelief that her discharge was linked to mental illness, stating, “I’m calling out the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy. You’re not just a mother; you’re a woman respected by many. Please come forward and tell the truth. You asked me to leave my job, and I submitted my handwritten resignation letter to you, which you then gave to the Army, requesting my release to your office. The psychiatric doctors were present when you intervened.”

Ogunleye also revealed that during a conversation on July 1, the Chief of Army Staff informed her that her voluntary discharge had been converted to a medical discharge so that she could benefit from pension and other entitlements. “How was I boarded out, and where is this mental illness coming from?” she asked.
