This announcement was made in a statement on Saturday by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation. Mokwa confirmed that payments to NASU members have already begun, with many individuals reporting receipt of their salaries.

“The Federal Government has released funds to cover the withheld salaries of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Federal Universities,” the statement noted. “Additionally, funds have been allocated for the payment of benefits to retirees under the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme. The OAGF has confirmed that payments to NASU members have commenced, and many have already received their funds.
