Nigerian Court Orders 60-Day Detention For Alleged ISIS Affiliated Individual

A Federal High Court in Abuja has sanctioned a 60-day detention period for Emmanuel Osase, a Nigerian implicated in affiliations with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
The decision came after Justice Inyang Ekwo considered a motion ex-parte presented by the Department of State Services (DSS), under case number FHC/ABJ/CS/409/2024.

During the court session on Wednesday, the DSS counsel, A. A. Ugee, cited Section 66(1) of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022, advocating for extended detention to facilitate ongoing investigations into Osase’s alleged terrorist activities.
