Nigerian Nurse Shares How Husband Saved For 2 Years To Send Wife To UK For Master’s

A Nigerian male nurse has shared an inspiring account of a husband who reportedly made significant sacrifices to support his wife’s Master’s degree in Nursing in the United Kingdom.

The nurse, identified on X, formerly Twitter, as @Nursebassey_, said he came across the story of a Nigerian registered nurse who publicly appreciated her husband for supporting her educational journey and nursing career.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the nurse revealed that the husband spent about two years converting his earnings from naira to pounds in preparation for and during his wife’s studies in the UK.

“For two years, this man was converting naira to pounds without complaining,” the nurse said while recounting the story.

He further disclosed that the husband travelled from Nigeria to the United Kingdom to support his wife during her clinical placement, including helping to care for their children while she focused on her studies and professional training.

“He even travelled from Nigeria to the UK to help his wife take care of the kids while she was on clinical placement,” he stated.

The support reportedly continued throughout the woman’s academic and professional journey until she completed her programme and qualified as a registered nurse.

The nurse said the woman is now a registered nurse and has been publicly expressing her appreciation to her husband for the sacrifices and support he provided throughout the process.

Reflecting on the story, @Nursebassey_ observed that positive experiences within marriages may receive less attention on social media than stories involving relationship difficulties.

“Omo many marriages are actually thriving. Na the bad ones dey get the most PR,” he wrote.
