Asake recalled a particular stage performance where he decided to recreate Fela’s iconic style, dressing in just pants and carrying a saxophone.
However, the audience did not respond as he had hoped. Instead, they showed displeasure and booed him on stage, disapproving of his choice to perform with scantily-clad ladies alongside him.
Asake admitted that the audience’s rejection was tough, and the event turned sour, resulting in him being assaulted during the performance.
