Asake recalled a particular stage performance where he decided to recreate Fela’s iconic style, dressing in just pants and carrying a saxophone.
However, the audience did not respond as he had hoped. Instead, they showed displeasure and booed him on stage, disapproving of his choice to perform with scantily-clad ladies alongside him.
Asake admitted that the audience’s rejection was tough, and the event turned sour, resulting in him being assaulted during the performance.
Reflecting on his journey to success, he shared the struggles he faced before finally getting the attention and acceptance he deserved as an artist.
