Nigerian Tweeps Reacts To Reports Of Kwankwaso Joining APC

Users of the microblogging platform, Twitter have reacted to claims revealed by Buhari’s ally of NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso joining the ruling party.

Kwankwaso former Minister of Defense in the early 2000s and two tenure seating governors of Kano State emerged in fourth position at the just concluded presidential poll after scoring over 1.4 million votes. CONTINUE READING

Recall they have been rumors of the former Kano State Governor presidential campaign sponsored by the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to split the votes of PDP and his northern brother, Atiku Abubakar.

Although the motives of Rabiu joining the All Progressive Congress is to build bridges ahead of the 2031 presidential election as his current party New Nigeria People’s Party lacks spread in his region alone as we saw he couldn’t gather meaningful votes in the North outside Kano. CONTINUE READING

The race for the 2031 presidency in the All Progressive Congress is already looking crowded as we know that power must shift to the North after Asiwaju’s eight years. Top contenders for the ticket of the ruling party might be Benue State Gov-elect Father Alias, Kaduna State Gov Nasir El-Rufai, and Borno State Gov Zulum.

Nigerian Tweeps have given their two cents on reports of Rabiu decamping to the ruling party after producing two senators, 18 reps.

“Kwankwaso is one of the politicians who you’re 95% confident that they will never get into Aso Rock. You want to return to APC and displace who for the ticket after Tinubu retires? Joker.”

“If Kwankwaso joins APC today, he’ll leave in the next 8 years. They are politicians in the North whose loyalties are proven & stand a better chance for the ticket in 2031 when Tinubu finished his terms. It’s better to stay in NNPP, continues trying Kano, and then give up.”

“Not under APC. Kwankwaso WILL NOT win the APC Primary ticket. Not when El-Rufai, Wammako, Shakaru, Ganduje, Zulum etc are all there. People who have deeper root and hold on the party. Delegates will vote, not Kwankwassiya followers. He’s a joker.”

“If Kwankwanso join APC . He has just Datti -Ahmed the greatest chance to be president. He can never be APC Flag bearer. He can never be.”
