Adams Oshiomhole stated his position at a ward rally in Ward 2 of Igarra Akoko Edo LGA in Edo State, explaining that the CBN governor’s policy is ill-conceived, as it fails to consider the implications of going completely cashless on all fronts without proper planning and distribution of the new notes.
Adams said that if you don’t want the old notes, you have a responsibility to distribute the new ones. He also denounced the practise of POS operators collecting 10% of each amount requested, stating it was wrong to steal so much money from the general public.
He vows that he will transmit Nigerians’ anguish to the Federal Government in Abuja, adding that it is illogical to expect that a sudden cashless policy prior to elections can prevent politicians from buying votes.
