In a statement released on Friday, NIMC confirmed that all services affected during the maintenance window are now fully operational, offering much-needed relief to banks, telecom providers, and government institutions that depend on real-time NIN verification for customer onboarding and authentication.
The service disruption had caused widespread delays across sectors relying on NIMC’s infrastructure, hindering daily operations and customer processing.
However, in its update, the Commission stated: “NIMC wishes to inform the general public that the recent technical maintenance has been completed and all services have been restored.”
NIMC advised Nigerians interested in enrolling for NIN or updating personal data—such as name corrections or modifications—to visit its official website to locate the nearest approved enrolment centers.
The Commission also encouraged citizens to use its self-service portal for quicker updates and modifications, and recommended downloading the NIMC NameAuth App, available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, for easy NIN verification and authentication.
Expressing appreciation for public understanding during the downtime, NIMC said, “We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during the maintenance period.”
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to delivering secure, efficient, and accessible identity management services across the country.
