Nine Arrested In Maiduguri For Displaying Russian Flags During Protest

At least nine protesters were arrested in Maiduguri, Borno State, for allegedly displaying Russian flags during a #EndBadGovernance protest. The arrests occurred in two areas: Zannari Tamsu and Bulumkutu. In Zannari Tamsu, residents Khalafi Abdulhamid, Mohammed Abubakar, Mohamed Ibrahim, and Abba Hassan were apprehended. Additionally, five protesters—Bashir Ahmad, Musa Lawan, Abba Mallam, Habibu Auwal, and Inusa Abdullahi—were arrested in the Bulumkutu area while carrying Russian flags.

The suspects have been transferred to the Crack Squad for further investigation and prosecution. Commissioner Lawal assured that the protest remained calm and emphasized that the police would continue to monitor and patrol the area to ensure public safety.
