The signing ceremony in Abuja saw NNPC executives including Umar Ajiya, Olalekan Ogunleye, and Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, alongside Golar LNG’s CEO Karl Fredrik Staubo in attendance.
This agreement marks a significant step towards commercializing Nigeria’s gas reserves, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for economic prosperity. Plans include utilizing shallow water resources to produce LNG, LPG, and Condensate, with NNPC and Golar LNG aiming for a Final Investment Decision by late 2024 and first gas delivery by 2027.
