However, the NNPP has firmly asserted that Kwankwaso remains dedicated to his role within the NNPP and will not entertain the notion of joining the APC.

The party’s national auditor, Ladipo Johnson, stated that discussions of Kwankwaso’s potential defection are merely diversionary tactics employed by the APC.

Further clarifying the NNPP’s stance, Abba Kawu Ali, the national chairman, expressed his astonishment at the selection of Ganduje as the new APC National Chairman.

He emphasized that a comparison between Ganduje and Kwankwaso is unfounded, asserting that the latter’s accomplishments and capabilities exceed those of the former.

Ali highlighted the NNPP’s strong performance in the 2023 general elections, achieving substantial victories in both national and state assemblies, as well as securing a governorship win in Kano State.

He also addressed disciplinary actions against state executives involved in anti-party activities, revealing suspensions and expulsions in certain cases.
