In a statement released on Friday and provided to Oguntoyinbo, he contended that the senators feigned ignorance of the ongoing struggles of Nigerians.
He deplored the fact that the populace is enduring severe circumstances following the removal of fuel subsidies, while the senators appeared to be lavishly using the nation’s resources.
The NNPP leader pondered how those who should be representing the people could appear so callous.
Ajadi remarked, “Many Nigerians are unable to provide for themselves. A significant number are succumbing to poverty daily. The high inflation rate is causing many schoolchildren to discontinue their education.
“It’s disheartening that our senators are acting as if they aren’t residing in Nigeria. Their behavior reflects a lack of concern for the plight of Nigerians. They are remarkably insensitive and morally oblivious to the suffering of regular Nigerians.
“If they had empathy, would they be discussing cars costing billions of Naira when the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate is undeniably embarrassing?
“It’s also lamentable that many of our national legislators are justifying the purchase of these SUVs at such an exorbitant price, even with the existence of poor road conditions throughout the country.
“That can’t be a valid justification, as poor road conditions indicate their inadequate performance in governance. We must question them: Whose responsibility is it to provide good roads if not the Federal Government, in which the senators are integral.
