Speaking on Saturday in Abuja during the third plenary of the Northern Political Consultative Group (NPCG), themed “Peace and Social Cohesion: A Panacea to Challenges of the North,” Abdullahi emphasized that the ADC is not structured to promote the ambition of any individual.

“We currently have no preferred aspirants or candidates. There have been no talks whatsoever about who will fly the party’s flag,” Abdullahi said. “We believe it’s far too early for that. Right now, our priority is building a strong political party that can truly fulfill our mission.”

The former minister stressed that the ADC is committed to fostering a new political culture—one that places national interest above personal ambition.

“Our party-building process is deliberately designed to prevent it from revolving around any one person,” he added. “As I’ve always said, the ADC isn’t a vehicle for anyone’s political aspirations. It’s a platform focused on reshaping Nigerian politics with a fresh, people-first agenda.”
