Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has accused the late National Electoral Commission (NEC) Chairman, Humphrey Nwosu, and former military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), of committing grave injustices during the 1993 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during a plenary session on Thursday, Oshiomhole insisted that Nigeria should not immortalize Nwosu, alleging that he and Babangida deceived the 18 million Nigerians who participated in the election.

While contributing to a motion sponsored by Enyinnaya Abaribe, Oshiomhole criticized Nwosu for failing to acknowledge or confess to the electoral irregularities and the events that marred the election.

According to Oshiomhole, “Prof. Nwosu and IBB misled 18 million Nigerians who voted. If he was afraid to speak out under military rule, there were still courageous Nigerians who protested despite the risks.

“After Babangida’s departure, Abiola’s death, and the return of democracy under President Obasanjo, I expected Nwosu to use the opportunity to reveal the truth. He had the freedom to speak, yet he remained silent. He should have publicly stated: ‘I have the records, and Abiola won the election, but I was unable to announce it.’ He died without making this confession and, therefore, cannot be honored.”
