The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has declared that it will not enter into any coalition with the North-East or the North-West.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Chairman of the group, Saleh Zazzaga, made this known in a statement issued to Naija News on Saturday.

Zazzaga stated that the Forum is not interested in forming any alliance aimed at removing President Bola Tinubu from power in 2027.

He, a member of the APC presidential campaign council in the 2023 election, explained that the North-Central is unwilling to repeat the experience it had after playing a key role in the coalition that led to the formation of the APC and the election of former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.

The statement pointed out that despite the North-Central’s significant contribution to forming Buhari’s government, it was sidelined by the North-East and North-West during his administration.

“The North-Central brought a sitting governor into the coalition, while many other regions contributed nothing,” the statement noted.

“Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State was the only sitting governor from the North-Central to actively participate in forming the APC. However, it was disappointing that after Buhari became president, he ignored our request for the Speaker’s position, which was instead given to Lagos.

“Under Buhari’s government, the North-Central suffered the most. Our roads were neglected, infrastructure was lacking, and the region faced severe insecurity, all while the North-East and North-West monopolized the benefits, including federal appointments.

“The North-Central was left out in spite of our crucial role in the coalition.”

The statement further distanced the North-Central from any potential coalition, emphasizing, “Whatever Atiku Abubakar and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai are doing is solely for their personal gain, not in the interest of the North-East or North-West.”

It also pointed out that politicians currently attacking President Tinubu are simply frustrated individuals angry about being excluded from the government.
