Speaking during a recent podcast conversation with her colleague Bimbo Akintola, Lolo 1 emphasized that relationships should be built on honesty and fairness, arguing that it is better for a man to openly embrace polygamy than to cheat behind his wife’s back.

According to her, a polygamous arrangement promotes transparency, as co-wives are aware of each other and share equal rights and attention, unlike hidden relationships that thrive on deceit.

In her words:

“I would rather a man be polygamous than for him to be married and have a side chick. That’s the one I would not contend with.”

Her colleague, Bimbo Akintola, however, offered a contrasting view, attributing the rise of secret lovers in Nigeria to men marrying women they consider “wife material” instead of those they genuinely love.

Akintola explained that this mismatch often drives men to seek emotional fulfillment outside their marriages, fueling the culture of infidelity and secret affairs.
