No Tolerance For Political Games: Adeleke Sends Strong Message To Feuding Groups

Speaking on Monday at the Local Government Service Commission in Osogbo during the inauguration of a 100-man peace committee, Governor Adeleke, represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, cautioned against politicizing the conflict and vowed to enforce the law against offenders.

“The administration strongly condemns any attempt to politicize the crisis,” he said. “We specifically warn those hiding under the guise of communal struggles to push political agendas to desist. We will no longer tolerate anyone playing politics with the lives of our people.”

The governor outlined the committee’s terms of reference, with a two-week deadline to submit its report. Key responsibilities include:

• Investigating the root causes of the conflict.
• Delimiting and marking the exact boundaries between the communities of Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun.
• Signing a truce to prevent further hostilities.
• Recommending strategies to achieve lasting peace and permanent boundary delineation.
• Conducting on-site visits to disputed and relevant areas.

Governor Adeleke emphasized that the government is committed to achieving permanent peace in the affected areas and will not tolerate actions that endanger the lives of its citizens.
