In a statement issued on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bola Abdullahi, described the reports as false, misleading, and an attempt to distract the public.

“The attention of the ADC has been drawn to a circulating story alleging that INEC has declined to acknowledge the new leadership of our party under Senator David Mark. This report is completely untrue and should be disregarded,” Abdullahi stated.

He urged Nigerians to ignore such misinformation and instead focus on the greater mission of rescuing the country.

Earlier media reports had claimed that, despite a resolution by the ADC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) dissolving the existing National Working Committee and appointing an interim leadership, INEC still recognizes the former executive.

Responding to The Guardian‘s inquiry, Rotimi Lawrence, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, said, “The old exco is still in charge as of today (yesterday).”

A review of INEC’s official website on Tuesday showed Ralph Okey Nwosu still listed as the ADC National Chairman, alongside other top officials including Said Baba Abdullahi (National Secretary), Cavin Alagoa (National Treasurer), Ifeyimwa Ntima (National Financial Secretary), and Ujunwa L. Onwuasoeze (National Legal Adviser). The party’s headquarters remains listed as “No. 1 Capital Plaza, Nyanyan-Kuru Road, Abuja,” with the same contact details.
