“Nobody Is Here!” Man Raises Alarm Over Alleged Absence Of Emergency Workers As Car Burns On Third Mainland Bridge

Published

A Nigerian man has criticised the Lagos State Government over the alleged absence of emergency responders after a vehicle reportedly overturned and caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge.

The man, who said he was driving along the busy bridge when the incident occurred, expressed concern over what he described as a lack of immediate assistance at the scene.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the man was particularly shocked that the burning vehicle was reportedly located close to a Lagos State emergency unit stationed on the bridge, yet no emergency personnel were visible to respond to the incident.

In a video that has circulated on social media, he questioned the apparent absence of officials despite the presence of an emergency facility nearby.

“Imagine, Lagos State Emergency — nobody is here,” he lamented while recording the scene.

His comments have raised concerns about emergency preparedness and the availability of first responders on one of Lagos State’s busiest traffic routes.

The Third Mainland Bridge serves as a major transport link for thousands of motorists daily, making the swift response of emergency services crucial when accidents, vehicle fires or other dangerous incidents occur.

The incident has also prompted questions about the effectiveness of emergency response arrangements on the bridge, particularly when motorists face potentially life-threatening situations.

However, the circumstances surrounding the vehicle fire, whether anyone was injured and whether emergency officials eventually arrived at the scene were not established in the available account. The Lagos State Government’s response to the man’s complaint was also not provided.
