Her colleague, Stanley Ontop, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post on Friday.

He wrote, “Nollywood is in tears as we lose one of our vibrant actresses, @nkechi.nweje. After a brief illness, she is gone. I couldn’t post since morning because it felt like a dream. Ezigbo Nwanyi Onitsha, rest in peace ma’am. My best friend, always calling to advise me… I’m still speechless.”

Several Nollywood stars have taken to social media to pay tribute to the late actress, mourning her loss.

Segun Arinze Dismisses Health Rumors

In another development, Nollywood actor Segun Arinze has debunked rumors that he is ill and in need of financial assistance.

Speculation arose after photos of him looking frail with a swollen stomach went viral. However, in a video posted on Instagram on Friday, Arinze reassured fans that he is in good health.

He clarified that the circulating images were taken on a movie set and do not reflect his actual condition.

Expressing gratitude to concerned fans who reached out, Arinze also warned against online scams, urging the public not to fall for fraudulent donation requests in his name.
