During the Thursday plenary, Akpabio read out the names of the nominees, which included former governors like Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and David Umahi of Ebonyi State.
Kenneth Okonkwo had previously predicted that the list would consist of recycled politicians, and upon seeing the final selection, he invited the public to evaluate if his prediction had come true.
Via Twitter, he expressed his surprise at the delay of two months to present a list that, in his opinion, did not meet expectations. He criticized the ruling APC party, calling it “anti-people” and suggesting that Nigeria needs to be rid of its influence.
