Not About Alia Or Akume!’ Aondoakaa Explains Why He Joined PDP Ahead Of 2027

Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Michael Aondoakaa, has stated that his decision to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not influenced by Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, or the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

Aondoakaa made this clarification on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Morning Show, describing his return to the PDP as a homecoming.

He explained that his decision is driven by his desire to contribute to the development of Benue State, with a focus on improving rural communities, enhancing food security, and promoting better living conditions.

According to him, the increased revenue made available through President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms presents an opportunity to channel resources into meaningful development, particularly in rural areas.

He also expressed his intention to support the full implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Benue State, as well as strengthen the enforcement of existing laws, including the state’s anti-grazing law, to protect lives and property.

Aondoakaa further emphasized that his return to the PDP is a personal and strategic decision, rooted in his earlier political experience within the party.

He reiterated that his focus is on delivering development-oriented programmes that will positively impact the people of Benue State.
