Former Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) champions, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), displayed resilience on Sunday as they staged a comeback to defeat Warri Wolves 2-1 in a Matchday 6 clash in Ozoro.

The Oluyole Warriors looked set for defeat after Igbunu Evwierhurhoma put the Wolves ahead in the 54th minute. But with just six minutes left, Qamar Adegoke struck to level matters before Adams Mustapha completed the turnaround two minutes later with a calm finish.

The victory, their second straight win after edging past newcomers Kun Khalifat last week, lifted the Ibadan giants to sixth place on the table with eight points from six games.

In Aba, newcomers Kun Khalifat suffered more misery, losing 3-1 at home to fellow debutants Barau FC. Ebuka Nwokorie’s 14th-minute opener gave Khalifat early hope, but Yahaya Ibrahim quickly equalised. Hillary Ekawu fired Barau ahead in the second half before Ibrahim sealed it with his brace, handing his side their first win of the season.

Elsewhere, Nasarawa United continued their strong form at the summit with a 2-0 win over Katsina United. Star striker Anas Yusuf broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime, while Abubakar Abdullahi added the second in the 73rd minute to keep the Solid Miners top with 13 points.

In Lagos, Ikorodu City held Enyimba to a 1-1 draw, keeping the People’s Elephant just a point off the leaders.

Meanwhile, Rangers International’s poor run persisted after a 2-2 draw with Wikki Tourists in Bauchi, leaving the Flying Antelopes stuck in the relegation zone with only five points from five outings.

At the bottom, Kun Khalifat remain winless with four defeats in six matches, alongside Kano Pillars, Barau FC, and Rangers battling early relegation worries.
