Ribadu’s rejection of the bribe further solidifies his reputation as a champion against corruption, setting an exemplary standard for others to follow in the pursuit of justice and good governance.

Recall he was awarded Lifetime/Outstanding Anticorruption Excellence Award from the Rule of Law & Anticorruption Centre, Doha, at a ceremony held in Malaysia five years back.

As seen in the throwback video below, Ribadu narrated to the BBC how he rejected a $ 15 million cash bribe from James Ibori in the mid 07s.

“He gave me 15 million USD in cash, in a big sack”, he told the BBC Interviewer.

He was further asked how he rejected the temptation, “they is no difference between a hundred dollar, fifteen million dollar and fifty million dollar along as it not genuinely earned”, Ribadu replied.
