Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect has a history of vandalizing electrical wires within the school premises.
During questioning, Yakubu admitted to vandalizing electrical fittings and wires from the school, subsequently selling the stolen items to a scrap dealer named Abubakar Ibrahim in the Labin Labin area of Tudun Wada Gusau for N23,000.

The confiscated exhibits from the suspect included 40 bunches of copper wires.
On February 20, 2024, Malam Isah Ahmed of Bakura town was apprehended alongside Usman Aliyu and Habibu Abdullahi for purchasing PMS products in large quantities in violation of the state government’s Executive Order banning the sale of PMS in jerrycans. The suspects were driving a black-tinted Golf Wagon with registration number GMM 40 XA Zamfara.
“The state government’s Executive Order aimed to cut off the supply of PMS to criminal elements. This act is charged with an attempt to commit an offense contrary to section 95 of the penal code,” Mustafa explained. The seized items from the suspects included 40 jerrycans of 25 litres each loaded with PMS.
