According to a statement from CSC Babawale Zaid Afolabi, the National Public Relations Officer of NSCDC NHQ, Abuja, the CG emphasized the importance of upholding high ethical standards, discipline, and professional conduct among the deployed personnel, while remaining non-partisan.
The statement clarified that the CG is committed to supporting democratic governance and electoral processes, with the deployment intended to ensure robust security for voters, officials, and other stakeholders.
Residents in the three states were urged to collaborate with the NSCDC and other relevant agencies, refraining from actions that might disrupt the carefully planned procedures for conducting peaceful elections.
The statement also conveyed a warning against activities like thuggery and ballot box snatching.
Furthermore, politicians were encouraged to advise their supporters to act responsibly, with a strong message that any form of sabotage would not be tolerated.
The CG assured that NSCDC personnel have received thorough briefing on their roles and responsibilities, and they will maintain neutrality in the field to ensure the safety of voters, stakeholders, and election officials.
