Nwifuru Blasts Cubana Chief Priest Over Resignation Call: Don’t Have Time For Him
Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has responded sharply to criticism from popular socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, over the performance of his administration.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Nwifuru reacted during an All Progressives Congress rally after Cubana Chief Priest called on him to step down, alleging that the governor had not done enough to develop the state.
Cubana Chief Priest had questioned how Nwifuru could spend almost three years in office without completing major projects that would leave a lasting legacy in Ebonyi State.
The socialite also alleged that Ebonyi was the only state in the South-East yet to experience significant development, while accusing successive leaders of failing to move beyond what he described as outdated approaches to governance.
Cubana Chief Priest has also publicly supported the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Odii, ahead of the February 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State.
Reacting to the criticism on Sunday, Nwifuru dismissed the socialite’s comments and said he was not concerned about his remarks.
The governor described Cubana Chief Priest as a “noisemaker” and “nobody,” adding that he had no time to engage with him.
Nwifuru further stated that he would only pay attention to the socialite if he remembered him, delivering a sharp response to the call for his resignation.
The exchange has added a fresh dimension to the political atmosphere in Ebonyi ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with supporters of the major political parties already intensifying their campaigns and public engagements.
