During an interview on ChannelsTV’s “Politics Today,” Wike stated that the PDP should have made prior contact with him before adding his name to the campaign council for the Bayelsa gubernatorial election.

He expressed that for his engagement in the campaign train, he expects an appeal from his party’s leadership, especially in conjunction with the “G5 Governors.”

Wike articulated, “For me to collaborate with the PDP in the Bayelsa elections, an apology must be extended to me and several colleagues. My departure from my state was filled with a sense of elation and triumph, as I aligned myself with justice, equity, and fairness.

My participation in any team should not be taken for granted. My actions will be based on my own decisions. If I choose to join the APC today, I will communicate with my constituents,” stated the former governor of Rivers State.
