NYSC Jackpot! Governor Eno Approves Bonus Monthly Allowance For Corps Members

This new allowance, effective from August 1, 2025, follows a recent decision by the governor to increase the monthly stipend for NYSC members serving within Akwa Ibom from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000.

Governor Eno explained that the initiative is part of his administration’s Renewed Hope – ARISE Youth Support Initiative, designed to ease financial pressure and improve the welfare of young Nigerians.

“This initiative is rooted in our commitment to youth empowerment and is aimed at reducing their cost of living and enhancing their overall experience during the service year,” the statement noted.

The allowance will be periodically reviewed in line with prevailing economic conditions.

In addition to financial support, Governor Eno has also approved the rehabilitation of the NYSC Orientation Camp located in Ikot Itie Idung, Nsit Atai Local Government Area, to improve the comfort and readiness of incoming corps members.

The state government reaffirmed that this gesture underscores the governor’s inclusive and compassionate leadership, and forms part of a broader strategy to foster youth development and national service.

“Corps members are vital to progress in sectors like education, health, agriculture, and rural development. Their well-being remains a priority for our administration,” the statement added.

Akwa Ibom was also highlighted as one of the most secure and welcoming states for corps members, with ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and supportive environment for their service.
