Obasanjo Exposed! Osinbajo’s Ex-Aide Cites Atiku, Wabara, Adeyeye As Witnesses To 3rd Term Plot

Laolu Akande, former spokesman to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of bullying and militarising Nigerian politics.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television on Friday, Akande reacted to Obasanjo’s denial of ever seeking a third term, insisting that history cannot be rewritten.
He maintained that Obasanjo indeed pursued a third-term presidency, citing testimonies from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Senate President Adolphus Wabara, and Professor Shola Adeyeye, who all revealed details of the alleged plot.
According to Akande, Obasanjo often used his influence as a “bully pulpit” to dominate national discourse, knowing those who challenged him lacked an equally strong voice.
He recalled that under Obasanjo’s watch, elections in 2003 and 2007 were described as battles, leading to flawed outcomes that even produced a president who admitted the urgent need for electoral reforms.
“Obasanjo cannot deny the events of 2005. Atiku has narrated how deeply invested he was in the third-term agenda. Wabara openly confessed to being offered ₦250 million to support it, while Shola Adeyeye confirmed that bribes of about ₦50 million were shared in his state. Nigerians witnessed these events firsthand,” Akande said.
He added that Obasanjo’s insistence that he could have secured a third term if he wanted was the height of his “democratic pretensions.”
Akande concluded by urging Nigerians to resist any attempt by Obasanjo to distort history:
“Baba Obasanjo, we know you wanted a third term. We know you fought for it. And we also know Nigerians rejected it.”
