The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has alleged that former presidential candidate Peter Obi is more inclined toward joining a political platform controlled by a single dominant figure.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
He suggested that Obi’s move to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) was driven by his inability to operate effectively within a broader coalition system that demands negotiation, compromise, and shared decision-making.
Abdullahi made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday, where he argued that Obi prefers a party structure where the presidential ticket can be secured without intense internal competition.
According to him, such a structure would allow a leader to directly guarantee candidacy, unlike in coalition-based parties where consensus and bargaining are essential.
He further claimed that Obi’s expectations extended beyond securing a ticket, including having influence over the selection of a running mate.
While expressing disappointment over the departure of Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the ADC, Abdullahi said their exit has also reduced internal pressure within the party, allowing it to focus more on its internal organisation and objectives.
