The collapse occurred during school hours, while students were taking exams, adding to the trauma witnessed by the children and their concerned parents. Obi acknowledged the swift response of rescue operations by organizations such as the FRSC, NEMA, Red Cross, Army, Police, and others involved in the effort to safely retrieve those trapped under the rubble.

In a condolence message on Friday, Obi urged the Plateau State government to conduct thorough investigations into the incident to determine its causes and prevent future occurrences. He extended sympathies to the government, people of Plateau State, school management, staff, students, and families affected by the tragedy.

“My heartfelt prayers are with the remaining trapped children and teachers for their safe rescue,” Obi emphasized.
