Odinkalu Accuses Abuja Protest Judge Of Bias Due To Wike Village Connection

Odinkalu made this statement on Sunday via his X account, stating, “I didn’t want to be the one to say this, but the FCT High Court judge who ordered that #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria protesters be confined to Moshood Abiola Stadium is from the same village as the FCT minister, who is the plaintiff. Consider the odds!”

According to our investigation, Justice Oriji and Wike both originate from the Obio/Akpor local government area in Rivers State. However, the FCT High Court website only confirms that Justice Oriji is from Obio/Akpor and does not specify his exact village.

Wike had sought the court’s intervention to confine the protests to the National Stadium, citing concerns over potential law violations and disorder. In granting the order, Justice Oriji stated, “The court finds it appropriate and expedient to issue an order under the omnibus or general prayer to ensure that the rights of the protesters are upheld while preventing adverse effects on other citizens’ rights and protecting public properties and facilities.
