Dr. Eldson Nwadiaro, the Niger Delta Operations Controller, emphasized the task force’s mandate to eradicate all forms of illegality within the petroleum industry. “Today marks the commencement of our efforts against bunkering, adulteration, and the influence of middlemen causing artificial scarcity,” he declared during the inauguration ceremony.

The initiative involves appointing chairpersons across the region’s nine states, supported by local government coordinators, to ensure effective implementation of these measures. “We reject the presence of unscrupulous middlemen and vow to combat activities leading to product adulteration and supply disruptions,” Dr. Nwadiaro affirmed.

Highlighting the collaboration with federal authorities and security agencies, he underscored the task force’s legal framework and commitment to operational transparency. “We are poised to work closely with law enforcement to maintain integrity and stability within the sector,” he concluded.

This move signals a concerted effort by stakeholders to safeguard the petroleum industry’s integrity in the Niger Delta, reinforcing regulatory measures and fostering sustainable practices.
